Once upon a time...

My Uncle Gary recently scanned in all the photos from his and Aunt Jane's wedding, which was in 1974! Since I was the flower girl at the very tender age of 20 months, I was anxious to see the photos. My brother was the ring bearer, and he was not quite 3 years old. I think we were cute, but the story is that I was a terror that day... almost didn't walk down the aisle. My mom was the matron of honor, so she had to walk down the aisle before me, and somehow Grandpa got me to walk down the aisle by myself without crying. He must have bribed me!

I'm amazed at how young my mom looks... but she was young... only 23 at the time. I think she is so beautiful in these pictures. It was so nice of my uncle to share these with me.

I was trying to see if there was any resemblance between me at that age and my daughter when she was the same age. Hmmm... maybe a little. I think I had more hair at that age. :)

While I'm writing this, I'm thinking that my mom would have loved this picture of Vanessa in her Dorothy costume... since I am from Kansas after all. My mom would have been a fantastic grandmother. :)

Janelle, omgosh, I feel such honor to see pictures of your beautiful mother, who I know you love so very much, and miss every day. I wish I could have known her. When you mentioned vmj at the end, the very first picture of you at 20 months I went OMGOD it's Vanessa! You are so lucky to have a daughter who looks like you. Everyone already says my angel looks like her daddy. Ho Hum... :-) I love you and miss you very much!
